Five Minute Friday: Lonely

Writing with so many others for Lisa-Jo Baker's Five Minute Friday (see that button on the right?)...Click over to read and join in!  Each Friday she gives us a prompt from which to harvest words and thoughts without edits, without worry, simply with heart...

This week :  Lonely

The word itself brings a shadow, a chill.  A sadness that feels hollow and yet, deep.  It brings with it questions of "am I doing enough?"  "Is it my fault?" and "Why am I different?"  Yet sometimes there is a need to feel this pull of sadness.  Sometimes it is good to remember that we are never truly alone.  That human emotion that we were created with, is not ours to cling to.  It is simply a signpost to show us the way to the One who alleviates all loneliness.  The One who loves so deeply that any darkness or loneliness is cast out.

Imagine the joy we will have when we see Him face to face, know as we are known, never again to feel lonely.  Never again to know the pain of disconnect or heartache.  What a glorious day that will be!

  1. Amen, sister! That will be a wonderful day!

  2. Holly, I am visiting from FMF! Beautiful words. It is so important to remember we never need to feel lonely as you said. There is the amazing One who is always there for us. And, meeting Him face to face will be amazing! Patti

    1. Yes, I am looking forward to that day - but praying for a heart of compassion while I'm here, to see and care for those who might need a hand. Thanks for visiting!

  3. Very true! I always think of that MAtthew West song that says maybe it i s so hard "here" so that we will long for home. Heaven. Great write!

  4. I will have to check out that song. I do like his work, but haven't heard all of it yet...thanks for stopping by Casey!

It would be great to hear your thoughts!
